Our Story:
Founder Wendi Armbrister found a way to combine her agricultural roots with her doctoral education in food science and nutrition along with her prowess in flavor and passion for nutritious food. A meat eater herself, Wendi knew plant-based options could be a healthy supplement to everyone’s diet. So, what stops people? Typically, the taste, texture or even limited protein. But why? She called bull on that and set out to show that anyone can enjoy satisfying, high protein, plant-based food full of flavor.
To achieve her vision, Wendi knew that the food had to be authentic to its meat counterpart with all the gratifying taste and hearty texture but without the beef and animal-based ingredients. She chose to start with jerky and extensively researched plant-based ingredients that delivered a powerful protein punch. THE WINNER? Wheat protein isolate and the hero of Cut the Bull™ jerky helping deliver a whopping 21 grams of protein per one ounce serving.
